I never slammed a car in park and whipped the potato cam so quick. I damn near freaked out when I saw this.

Now, if only these assholes supported the local enthusiast crowd.
Ferrari of Alberta comes up and gives test drive days for crying out loud. Porsche?
Hah. Keep dreaming.

Wow really? If anything I think it'd be the opposite.

Thats the dealer group for you. The one time they brought any of their cars out, it was a overpriced convertible 911 that no one really cared for.
I mean, Ferrari comes up during Saturday coffee and makes it feel like home, and they're friendly and accessible and hand 21 year olds the keys to their cars.
You don't buy fanboyism like that. You earn it, with acts like that.

Wow, there should be more dealers like that. My local BMW dealer gives zero fucks when my dad and I test drive cars.
"Here, take it"
We leave for an hour and it's all cool.

I don't get your point of "they brought a overpriced convertible 911". So your ok if ferrari brings a 250k car but if porsche brings a 150K car it's a problem?
What porsche would you of cared for then?
I'm not trying to argue your opinion I'm just trying to understand your reasoning.

Its the attitude they have. They never initiate anything. The only time they have a dealer event is for a 'new' car, and even then its such a corporate affair.
Ferrari comes up for the sake of coming up. Even though they haven't showed a new car in a long time for driving days.
In some twisted way, a Ferrari dealership and their staff is more approachable and welcoming than a Porsche one, and Ferrari doesn't even have a shop up here.

Ok now I get what your trying to say. so when and where would a person might be able to attend one of these ferrari test drive days?
But I'm sure to the serious buyer Porsche would be more than willing to hand over the keys. I would be hesitant too to hand over the keys to someone who just wants to go for a joyride.

2nd Cup on Rabbit Hill road. They send out emails every few weeks during the summer cause they're always coming up. Thats how 'informal' it is. If you're on the mailing list, you're allowed to drive. The dealer owner is just that kind of guy.

How does someone get on the mailing list? can you send me a link?
![]() 04/06/2014 at 12:22 |

fire me your email and I can send it to the marketing person at the dealership

i have to disagree. when i marked for the local porsche dealership - they had events every 3 weekends. not just dealership mandated track days - porsche mandated events. It could have had to do with one of the porsche owners owning kalabogie race track but im not so sure. They loved throwing events - and brought like 4 or 5 cars to hoon.

worked not marked,.

Say what you want about Porsche options, but Exclusive is a wonderful, wonderful thing. I believe the applicable term here is "So much want."

after I saw this car I came home and went on the porsche builder. Did you know that you can add over $48000 worth of options on a Cayman S ? that's retarded! but a base Cayman S for $72000 doesn't seem so horrible.
![]() 04/06/2014 at 22:04 |

Oh yeah. You can go crazy with their options: colored seat belts, change the badging, carbon this, alcantara that. Plus the $9k PCCB package. It's insane, and that's before Porsche starts building all of their special editions where they charge more to take stuff out.
And, for what it's worth, they should totally throw in the fire extinguisher for free on the GT3.

I didn't think I needed this, but I totally do.

So you can martini stripe yourself...

I'm not much of a guy for belts but the link is awesome I can see myself buying these in the near future.

it would match the porsche I can't afford to buy perfectly...lol

Lol. I've trying to find a price on the Porsche for the better part of an hour now. If I can buy it - I'll put Martini stripes on my white JSW TDI just so everything in the garage matches.

I don't see it listed on the website http://www.edmontonporsche.ca/ and I tried calling them and I couldnt get thru to anyone. I'm guessing its somewhere in between $80000 & $110000. not very helpful I know but I tried.

I didn't see it there and I can't seem to find any documentation behind it being a legit special edition or anything. I guess the (cheaper?) alternative is to go get a white Cayman and call a friend with a vinyl plotter.
